When our 6 year old son, Francis was 20 months old he suffered his first febrile convulsion when we were visiting nana. Having never seen anyone have a fit before, it was the scariest thing in my life especially when he started to turn blue. It felt like eternity but WFA were at nanas place within minutes of us calling 111.
A few years later we needed to call on the WFA service again for our youngest son Joseph. It was his first night home from the hospital and he was 2 days old; at 2am I noticed that his breathing sounded laboured, almost as if he was struggling to breathe. My husband called WFA and again they were at home within minutes.
On both occasions the WFA paramedics were professional and sympathetic; they gave us the reassurance that we needed as parents that our boys were in good hands.
We are so thankful to the WFA for the fantastic service they’ve given us when we needed it most.
