Incident involving St John Patient Transfer Service Van

We’ve received a number of calls about an incident in Mana involving a St John Patient Transfer Service Van. Please see statement from St John below: 

Wellington Free Ambulance has attended a one vehicle crash in Mana near Wellington at 2.40pm today.

The vehicle was a St John patient transfer service van transporting a patient and relative from Palmerston North Hospital to Wellington Hospital.

Wellington Free paramedics have assessed the driver and two occupants of the vehicle at the scene.  The original patient has no injuries while the passenger received minor injuries and they have been transported to Wellington Hospital.

The St John driver has no injuries.
