Looking after you at Wellington Round the Bays

Wellington Free Ambulance is excited to be providing medical coverage at this year’s Wellington Brendan Foot Supersite Round the Bays.

Christine, John and Tessa

If you’re taking part, our awesome and highly skilled team will be dotted along the way as well as at the finish line to help with everything from sprained ankles to giving life-saving care until an ambulance arrives – they’ll also be cheering you on of course.

Events Manager at Wellington Free, Christine Aitchison says to be part of such an iconic Wellington event is a great opportunity for our crews and gives us a chance to be a part of our incredibly supportive community.

“Event Medics are at the heart of what we do because looking after our community is a team effort and everyone has their part to play. Our Event Medics are looking forward to this year’s event and being here for you,” Christine says.

Now in its 43rd year, Round the Bays is a well-established community event that encourages people to be active by walking or running around Wellington’s beautiful harbour coastline.

It’s also a fun way to raise awareness of healthy living and being active in a way that includes everyone – young and old.

Event Director at Sport Wellington, John Grieve says relationships with local organisations are essential for the successful delivery of Wellington Round the Bays.

“We rely on local organisations to provide a wide range of services, and are delighted to be working with Wellington Free Ambulance, drawing on their local knowledge and expertise, this year. They are a highly respected organisation who play a crucial role in the community,” John says.

“A big thanks to Wellington Free Ambulance for supporting the event, and for their wider contributions to the Wellington community.”
