Book a community visit

At Wellington Free we prioritise connecting with our communities, growing understanding of our work and its impact and aiming to equip people with knowledge of what happens when they call 111 for help.

In Wellington and Wairarapa, we have dedicated community liaisons who are available to visit community groups, schools, early childhood centres or retirement villages.  We can also attend your community event with a display stand that explains more about who we are and what we do.

Sessions are completely free of charge (just like our ambulance services!) and are tailored to your needs – both in terms of time and content, which is based on the audience.

Our community liaisons will come to you for the session, which could include:

  • The history and origin story of Wellington Free Ambulance – key moments in our almost 100 years of service to the community.
  • A 90-minute fun CPR and AED training course – The Lloyd Morrison Foundation Heartbeat CPR training programme.
  • Bringing along an ambulance for children and students to see inside.
  • Information about calling 111, what paramedics do and how to spot when someone needs medical help.
  • An overview of what a career with Wellington Free can look like in a variety of roles.
  • Information on personal medical alarms through Freedom Medical Alarms.
