You will see our event medics helping out at the big games, Saturday morning footy, concerts and marathons. Our event team is made up almost entirely of volunteers who generously give up their weekends to look after us. Nice one! They are trained in general first aid and CPR, and if things get serious, they will look after you until the paramedics arrive.
If you have an event coming up and you’d like skilled, friendly medics on the sideline keeping things safe please read below and drop us a line.
We have an events team made up of trained volunteer medics. They are part of a central support and coordination system led by professional Wellington Free Ambulance paramedics. Our service covers the Greater Wellington and Wairarapa areas.
What we need from you:
What will it cost?
Cost depends on the nature of your event and how much risk is involved.
For a pair of First Responders we charge $100 + GST per hour, who can cover basic first aid and pain relief – this will generally cover smaller events.
If you require qualified Paramedics we charge upwards of $75 + GST per hour and are crucial for any higher risk events.
We have a formula we work through with you to make sure we provide the best cover based on the level of risk and need of your participants, staff and the public.
The main thing for us is making sure you have a great, safe event. We’re a part of the local community just like you so work hard to keep costs real, and quality high.

If you or someone you care about is living at home and would like the reassurance of expert help on the end of the line, a Freedom Medical Alarm can help.
When you push the button on your alarm, we receive your alert directly into our 111 Communications Centre and immediately call your phone to see what help you need.
If you can’t get to your phone to answer it, a two way speaker system lets you talk to us. And if we can’t reach you by phone, we will alert your emergency contacts and send an ambulance to your house as soon as we can.
It means you will always be able to alert us if you have an emergency, and that’s good peace of mind.
